Police update 4: Wounding at Gympie

Vision of the arrest of the man subject to a police appeal has been released.

Yesterday: The man subject to a police appeal following the alleged wounding of another man in Gympie on Wednesday March 23 was taken into custody this afternoon.

Around 2pm police sighted the man on River Road, Gympie following a tip off from a member of the public. A short foot chase ensued, with the man allegedly obstructing police during the arrest. No one was injured as a result.

He has been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company/using personal violence and grievous bodily harm, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police, possessing a knife in public and failing to dispose of a needle.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Gympie Magistrates Court tomorrow.
