Police update: Amber Alert investigation at Ipswich

A 26-year-old Fortitude Valley woman has been charged following an alleged abduction at Redbank Plains earlier today.

Just before 4pm, the woman attended a residence on Warrill Street and allegedly took a 7-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy known to her.

Police held serious concerns for the safety of the children and an Amber Alert was issued.

Information led officers to an Alexandra Hills address where the woman and two children were located. The woman was taken into custody without incident.

The 26-year-old has been charged with two counts each of child stealing and removing a child from carer.

She has been refused police bail to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, September 7.

Investigations are continuing.
