Police update: Armed robbery, Highland Park

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy in relation to the alleged armed robbery of a service station at Highland Park on Monday night, May 2.

Just before 9pm, a man entered the Alexander Drive business allegedly armed with a knife.

The 27-year-old female employee ran into a secure back-room.

The armed man allegedly then forced his way behind the front counter stole a quantity of cigarettes from the cabinet.

The man then exited the store and fled on foot along Alexander Drive.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was remanded in police custody to appear in Southport Childrens Court today.
