Police update: Armed robbery, Kangaroo Point

Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Kangaroo Point last night have charged a man.

Police will allege around 7.30pm a man entered the business on Main Street, armed with a knife.

The man allegedly demanded money from a staff member in the gaming area of the hotel before fleeing the scene with a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

As a result of their investigations officers took a man into custody in Albion at around 7.00pm tonight.

A 31-year-old East Brisbane man has been charged with one count of armed robbery.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 27.
