Police update: Armed robbery, Upper Mount Gravatt

Police have charged three males following an armed robbery in Upper Mount Gravatt on September 12.

Around midnight on Saturday, police will allege three males wearing balaclavas entered a sports club on Klumpp Road and Logan Road, one was armed with a rifle.

They allegedly threatened a female employee and stole a large sum of cash.

They fled in a black Holden Astra which was monitored by police until the vehicle was intercepted using a tyre deflation device on Main Street, Narangba.

They abandoned the vehicle and were all arrested a short time later.

Two males aged 16 and 17 have been charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon.

An 18-year-old man from Teneriffe has been charged with armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates court today (September 14).
