A 38-year-old man has been charged following a series of suspicious fires at Andergrove in January and February of this year.
It will be alleged the man threatened to burn a Celeber Road business preceding the incidents.
Around 4.40am on 13 January, police and emergency services were called to a Celeber Road business following reports of a fire at the rear of the building. The fire was extinguished a short time later and a crime scene was declared.
A further three reports of fire occurred at the same location on 14 February, 18 February, and 27 February.
No one was physically injured in any of these events.
Detectives executed a search warrant at an Andergrove address on 3 March and arrested a 37-year-old man from Emu Park.
The man has been charged with one count each of threats, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing utensils, and is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court today, 4 March.
Investigations are ongoing.
