Police update: Break and enter, Toombul

A man has been charged following investigations into the break and enter of a shopping centre at Toombul.

Just before 5am on Saturday, it will be alleged a sedan was driven through the entry doors of a pharmacy, then into the front of two jewellery stores.

A number of display cabinets were broken before an amount of jewellery was taken.

The incident caused extensive damage to glass doors and shops inside the Sandgate Road centre.

An 18-year-old Edens Landing man was arrested on Sunday and charged with three counts of enter premises with intent, two counts of stealing and two counts of wilful damage.

He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this morning.

Investigations are continuing.
