Police Update: Burglary With Violence, Wellington Point

Bayside Criminal Investigations Branch detectives have charged three men following investigations into an alleged break and enter where a man sustained a gunshot wound in Wellington Point last month.

Around 1am on 8 December 2025 it is alleged a group of offenders broke into a Mander Court address and confronted the residence's occupant.

During the incident it is alleged an offender discharged a firearm at the 25-year-old male resident during the altercation, striking him in the foot.

The group allegedly proceeded to steal several items from the property before fleeing the area in a blue Dodge Ram utility truck stolen from the address and a BMW X5.

The Dodge Ram was later located with significant damage on Railway Parade at Thorneside on 9 December 2025.

It will be alleged the white BMW X5 was stolen from a Pioneer Drive address at Kuraby on 3 November 2025.

The white BMW X5 was later located undamaged on Pinelands Street in Loganlea on 9 December 2025.

The 25-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the altercation and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police allege it was a targeted incident and there is no ongoing threat to the general public.

Following extensive investigations, on 12 December 2025 police arrested a man a Maple Street address in Marsden.

The 30-year-old Marsden man was subsequently charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery armed in company, enter dwelling and commit, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 20 January.

Subsequent investigations led to specialist police arresting two additional men at a Waterford West Shopping Centre around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, 7 January.

A 28-year-old Crestmead man was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery armed in company, enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and four counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

He was denied police bail and is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrate Court today, 8 January.

A 29-year-old Waterford West man was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery armed in company, enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and possessing dangerous drugs.

He was denied police bail and is expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrate Court today, 8 January.

A subsequent search warrant at a Wellington Circuit address in Yarrabilba, allegedly located drug items, firearms parts and two .22 calibre rounds.

Investigations are ongoing.
