Northern Territory Police have charged a 23-year-old man involved in a hit and run that occurred on Thursday afternoon.
The man was charged on Friday night with hit and run cause serious harm and bailed to appear on 25 June. One of the injured pedestrians, a 39-year-old man, has since died in hospital overnight.
The investigation has been referred to Major Crash Investigation Unit.
Detective Acting Superintendent Brendan Lindner said "Detectives will consult with Director of Public Prosecutions regarding upgrading the current charge before the court.
"I once again would like to remind all drivers involved in a crash that it is a legal requirement for you to stop and render assistance and then contact and take direction from police."
