Police update: Charges - Robbery at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery in Casuarina last weekend.

An 85-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted and robbed by a man unknown to him.

While conducting enquiries, investigators became aware of a second, similar incident that occurred nearby on 2 May. A 75-year-old man was withdrawing cash from an ATM when an unknown man robbed him.

Investigators from Strike Force Trident identified a 27-year-old man who was arrested and charged yesterday with:

  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Aggravated Robbery

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, "Police worked closely with shopping centre security to identify and locate this offender.

"Preying on the vulnerable is an incredibly low act and this man can now face court for his actions."
