Police update: Chemist break ins at Gold Coast

Police have charged an 18-year-old man in relation to two break and enters at separate chemists on the Gold Coast yesterday morning.

It is alleged around 5.10am two males have attempted to break the glass of a front sliding door at a Slatyer Road chemist at Southport, but were unsuccessful. They have then kicked the glass in and entered the premises stealing a quantity of prescription drugs.

Shortly after at 5.45am, it is alleged a front sliding glass door was kicked in at a Hope Island Road chemist at Helensvale where a quantity of fragrances and prescription drugs were taken.

An 18-year-old man from Southport has been charged with two counts of enter premises with intent and one count each of burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police investigations are ongoing.
