Police Update: Dangerous Driving In Katherine

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested an 18-year-old man in relation to a dangerous driving incident in Katherine over the weekend.

Around 11:15pm on Saturday, the Joint Emergency Service Communications Centre received reports of a stolen red Toyota RAV4 driving dangerously around Katherine CBD.

Initial reports indicated up to 10 youths were inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was observed by police CCTV operators to roll on Railway Terrace with all occupants fleeing on foot.

Officers from the Northern Investigations Section have since arrested an 18-year-old man, believed to the be the driver of the vehicle.

Police can also confirm that a 13-year-old youth, believed to be a passenger in the vehicle, attended hospital with serious injuries. He has since been transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.
