A 47-year-old man has been charged with the alleged murder of a woman at Manunda yesterday.
Emergency services were called following reports of an unresponsive woman at the address. She died a short time later.
The 47-year-old man, known to her, was taken into custody at the scene.
Further investigations indicate the 47-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and suffered serious head injuries.
The man has today been charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and refused police bail.
He will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday, April 11.
