Police Update: Fatal Traffic Crash At Caboolture 22 May

The Burpengary Forensic Crash Unit have charged a woman after investigations into a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash in Caboolture on April 6.

A Fuso Canter truck and Hyundai i20 allegedly collided at the intersection of Bellemere Road and King Street around 6.30pm.

Police will allege the Hyundai was travelling in a north westerly direction on King Street when it approached the intersection with Bellemere Road at high speed and did not stop at the red light.

The truck was allegedly driving in the opposite direction and attempted to turn right onto Bellmere Road when it was hit by the Hyundai.

A 35-year-old woman and a 50-year-old Caboolture woman, both passengers in the Hyundai, were declared deceased at the scene.

A one-year-old boy, also in the Hyundai, was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 26-year-old Caboolture woman, sustained minor injuries.

The truck driver, a 42-year-old Caboolture man, was not physically injured.

A 26-year-old Caboolture woman has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance whilst excessively speeding, one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance whilst excessively speeding, and one count of did drive under the influence of liquor or a drug.

She is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on June 17.
