Police update: Fatal traffic crash at Rockhampton

A 19-year-old Gracemere man involved in a traffic crash in Rockhampton on July 15 has sadly passed away in hospital.

Investigations indicate at around 4pm, a car was travelling west along Machi Nine Road when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The front seat passenger, a 16-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 19-year-old male driver was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital with critical injuries and later airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased yesterday afternoon.

The 16-year-old female rear seat passenger was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
