Police update: Fatal traffic crash, Mundingburra

Police investigating a fatal traffic incident in Mundingburra last year, have charged a man.

Around 7.20pm on Monday, December 24, a vehicle travelling on Ross River Road collided with two pedestrians at the intersection with Bowen Road.

The two pedestrians, a 76-year-old man and 76-year-old woman were both declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old Railway Estate man, has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

He is expected to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July 12.
