Police update: Hit and run investigation at Townsville

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with multiple offences following a hit and run that took place in Townsville on Sunday morning.

It will be alleged a man and a woman, aged in their 70s, were injured during a robbery with violence and hit and run that took place around 9am on April 4.

Following initial investigations, a 16-year-old boy was charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of stealing yesterday.

He is appearing in Townsville Childrens Court today in police custody.

Police are continuing their investigations and it is anticipated that more offenders will be apprehended and charged over this incident.
