Police update: Homicide investigation, Railway Estate

Police have charged a 32-year-old Jensen woman over the alleged murder of a 39-year-old Aurukun man at Railway Estate in Townsville on July 12.

It will be alleged shortly after 4.30am, the woman entered an Eleventh Avenue address and seriously assaulted the man before leaving in a vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located the 39-year-old unconscious with critical injuries, including a stab wound to his chest.

He was declared deceased at the scene a short time later.

The property was immediately declared a crime scene with investigators launching Operation Victor Madrox into the alleged homicide.

Yesterday, July 17, detectives from Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) arrested a 32-year-old Jensen woman from a Texas Road property.

She has been charged with one count each of murder, enter dwelling with intent at night in company, threatening violence and deprivation of liberty.

She was remanded in custody and is due to re-appear at Townsville Magistrates Court on October 13.

A second person, a 37-year-old Beach Holm man, was taken into custody today, July 18, and is assisting police with ongoing investigations.
