Police update: Injury to 15-year-old boy, Bundall

Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a teenage boy following an incident in Bundall early this morning where a 15-year-old boy sustained a critical head injury.

At 1.00am, emergency services were called to Larne Avenue where they located the injured boy who had been with a group of teenagers.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives have since arrested a 16-year-old Bundall boy who they allege was driving a Ute when the 15-year-old fell from the rear tray and struck his head.

He has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
