Police update: Missing man, Cascade Gorge at Mackay

Police have sadly located a body, believed to be the man reported missing in the Cascade Gorge area yesterday.

The man and his friends were swimming in the gorge yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the watering hole about 4:30pm when his friends noticed he was missing.

Police, divers and SES personnel conducted a search of the watering hole and the surrounding area and located a man at 4pm today.

Forensic tests will now be performed to confirm identification.

The missing man is a 22-year-old man visiting Mackay.
