Police update: Multiple assaults, Northgate

A man has been charged following investigations into a violent assault incident on a train at Northgate on November 28.

Police will allege they were called to Northgate train station around 4pm to reports people had been assaulted on a carriage, the youngest only 11-months-old.

Upon arrival officers will further allege they located a number of victims aged between 11-months-old and 78-years-old with injuries.

A 28-year-old Coalbank man was arrested and when taken to the Brisbane Watchhouse where it will be alleged he assaulted two police officers.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment and was yesterday charged with six counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count each of serious assault person over 60 and common assault and two counts of serious assault police officers causing bodily harm.

He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today and was remanded to reappear on January 12, 2022.
