Police update: PSPA revoked at Caboolture

UPDATE: Police have extensively searched the bushland off the D'Aguilar Highway at Caboolture without locating a male or any weapons.

As a result, the PSPA declaration was revoked at 6.18pm.

Members of the public are thanked for their cooperation. Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER:

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing incident at Caboolture.

The declaration zone encompasses all of Elof Road through to Male Road (north), D'Aguilar Highway (south), Bruce Highway (east) and Pettigrew Street (west).

Just before 11am police responded to unconfirmed reports that a male, believed to be in a stolen car that was parked on the side of the D'Aguilar Highway, had fired shots before running into nearby bushland.

Members of the public are advised to use alternate routes and avoid this area.
