Police update: Serious assault at Maryborough

Detectives have charged a man following a serious assault that occurred in Maryborough on Friday, November 24.

It will be alleged around 10pm an argument commenced between two men outside a licensed premises on Ferry Street.

A 20-year-old Tinana man allegedly stuck a 51-year-old Maryborough man in the head causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.

The 51-year-old man remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The other man left the area and was located by police, shortly after.

A 20-year-old Tinana man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and will appear at Maryborough Magistrates Court this morning, November 27.
