A woman has died in hospital following a serious traffic crash in Glenella last night, 24 March.
Initial investigations indicate just after 6.30pm, when a collision occurred between a Nissan Micra and a Nissan Navara on Glenella Richmond Road at the intersection with Holts Road.
The driver of the Micra, an 18-year-old Bucasia woman, was initially transported to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition but has since passed away.
The driver of the Navara, a 53-year-old Andergrove woman, was treated for minor injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
