Police update: Stealing with violence, Bushland Beach

Police have arrested two people following an investigation into an incident involving a man stealing a vehicle in Bushland Beach on January 27.

Townsville Child Protection and Investigation Unit assisted by Townsville Tactical Crime Unit executed multiple search warrants today in Rasmussen and Balgal Beach.

Investigators arrested a man and woman in relation to a Toyota Kluger stolen from Bushland Beach last Thursday.

Around 11.20am on January 27, it will be alleged a light-coloured utility pulled up beside a Toyota Kluger parked outside a shop on Mount Low Parkway.

A male wearing a face mask got out of the utility and approached Toyota Kluger. He got in the driver's seat and demanded the passenger, a teenage girl, get out of the Toyota Kluger.

The two vehicles then sped away from the scene.

The teenage girl was not physically harmed.

A man from Balgal Beach and a woman from Rasmussen were arrested and taken into custody around 9am today and are assisting police with the investigation.
