Police update: Suspicious vehicle - Woodroffe

Northern Territory Police continue to investigate reported sightings of a suspicious vehicle in Woodroffe.

Between 2:25pm and 2:30pm on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August 2020, a white Renault master van was reported following school children along Harrison Court in Woodroffe.

Around 3:00pm on Friday 7 August, police received another report of a man parking a white van and approaching a child on foot at Sirius Park, Woodroffe. The child ran to her school and reported the incident to police. The man is described as approximately 40-years-old with a black beard and was wearing a fluorescent orange work shirt.

Police urge parent, carers and children to remember the four R's:

  • Recognise the danger
  • Refuse any offer
  • Run away
  • Report it to the first person they feel safe with.

Further police investigations established the driver of the vehicle may also be driving a blue Hyundai iLoad van.

Police urge anyone who sees either vehicle loitering around children to contact police immediately.
