Detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad (Northern) have charged a 30-year-old woman in relation to firearm and drug trafficking offences following a traffic crash in Aitkenvale last month.
It will be alleged that on July 2 the woman was involved in a single vehicle crash on Nathan Street and left the scene.
A search of the Toyota Hilux was conducted with police locating four firearms and a large quantity of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
As a result of investigations and information received from the public, the woman was located at a Duke Street, Duchess, address on July 30.
The 30-year-old Townsville woman has since been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing things used, possessing tainted property, trafficking in dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and two counts each of possess shortened firearm in public and possess category A,B or M weapon.
She appeared in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on July 31. She was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again on September 15.
