Police Update: Traffic Crash At Woombye

Forensic Crash Unit investigators have charged two teenagers after a crash in Woombye on May 7.

Investigations indicate around 8.45pm a blue Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Nambour Connection Road and a white Suzuki Swift was traveling south when the two cars collided at the intersection with McKenzie Road.

The driver and passengers of the Suzuki were transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It will be alleged the driver and passenger of the Toyota, ran from the scene before police arrived and the car was stolen from a carpark on Matthew Terrace in Caboolture.

On May 16, officers charged a 16-year-old Caboolture boy and a 15-year-old Morayfield girl with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The boy has also been charged with one count each of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, unlicensed driving and driver fail to remain at scene.

The girl was dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act and the boy with reappear in the Maroochydore Childrens Court on May 21.

Investigators would like to thank members of the public who assisted on the night and those who provided crucial anonymous information.
