Police Update: Wounding And Arson Incident, Raceview

Police have charged a man with attempted murder and arson following an incident in Raceview on Saturday, 24 May.

It will be alleged around 4:30pm during an altercation at a residence on Cascade Street the man, stabbed a 40-year-old Raceview woman and a 15-year-old boy.

It will further be alleged the 50-year-old Raceview man then started a fire at the address.

The boy was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mater Hospital in a stable condition.

It is believed the three involved were known to each other.

The man was arrested shortly after police arrived on scene and he has been charged with two counts of attempt to murder (domestic violence offence) and one count of arson (domestic violence offence).

He will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday at 9am.
