Police update: Wounding, Palm Beach

Police have charged a man after a 40-year-old man sustained a serious stab wound to the chest at Palm Beach on November 15.

It will be alleged that around 9.15pm, a man attended the Cypress Avenue residence of an elderly couple who were not known to him, picked up a concrete garden tile and threw it through the back glass door, causing it to smash.

A 40-year-old neighbour went to investigate the noise when he was allegedly confronted by the man and stabbed with a knife, causing a significant puncture-wound to his chest.

The 40-year-old was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at an address on Chaucer Street, Moorooka, this afternoon where they arrested a man.

A 24-year-old Logan Central man has now been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, wilful damage and stalking.

He is scheduled to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
