Police update: Wounding, Robina 21 July

Police have arrested a 41-year-old woman over the alleged wounding of a female employee at a Robina department store this morning.

It will be alleged that just before 9.30am, a woman approached the store's women's-wear counter where she removed an implement similar to a box-cutter from her handbag and cut a 32-year-old female employee's hand, before fleeing the shopping centre.

Just before 3.30pm this afternoon, police were called to a shopping centre on Marine Parade, Southport, where a woman had allegedly assaulted a member of the public.

Officers tracked a 41-year-old Merrimac woman to Merrimac where she was arrested.

Investigations continue.
