Police van collision sends woman to hospital in Sydney

A woman was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a police van in Blacktown, Thursday night.

The police vehicle was following an ambulance when a car and the police vehicle collided in Main Street, causing the police vehicle to roll on its side, about 10.30pm.

Police were assisting Ambulance Paramedics with a patient being transported to Blacktown Hospital, with both ambulance and police vehicle on non-urgent duty.

The woman driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to Blacktown Hospital.

9news reported the four-wheel-drive, involved in the accident, had another woman passenger and a baby on board, both unhurt during the crash.

No one else was injured.

Inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
