Police vehicles rammed, Cannonvale

Police are investigating an incident overnight in Cannonvale where two officers sustained injures as a result of a traffic crash.

Around 10pm, two police officers were patrolling in a marked police Hyundai iLoad when they pulled behind a silver Ford Mondeo in the carpark of a licensed premises in Shute Harbour Road for the purpose of a random breath test.

As officers were getting out of the police vehicle, the driver reversed at speed, hitting the iLoad's front left door and fender, causing minor injuries to the two officers.

The driver of the sedan then accelerated away along Shute Harbour Road.

Police are seeking public assistance to locate the driver and the silver Ford Mondeo bearing Queensland registration 519ZHV who remain outstanding.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has any information about the incident which may assist investigators are being urged to contact police.

The two female senior constables aged 43-years old and 24-years-old were taken to Proserpine Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
