Police vehicles rammed in Thornbury

Police members in an unmarked car observed an alleged stolen vehicle in Cosmas Street Thornbury and pulled up next to it just before 1am, Victoria Police say.

The Holden Colorado took off and turned into Smith Street which was a dead end, the police members followed it.

The Colorado attempted to make a u-turn and drove into the police vehicle which was stationary in front of it.

A second unmarked police vehicle pulled up next to the police car.

The Colorado reversed and rammed into both police vehicles, pushing them several meters before driving away.

A short time later the Colorado struck a car on St Georges Road in Preston, the female driver was not injured.

One of the two male police members in the unmarked car sustained minor injuries and the male police member of the second car was not injured.

The Holden Colorado was located dumped in Southernhay Street Reservoir about 4.30am and the driver is yet to be located.
