Police warn motorists of fallen trees, South Australia

Police are warning all motorists across the state to be aware of falling trees due to high winds and yesterday's extremely hot weather.

Drivers in both metropolitan and regional areas should remain vigilant as trees have not been coping with the severe temperatures and are likely to fall and cause potential road hazards or injury.

Multiple tree falls have already been recorded by the Port Lincoln State Emergency Service.

South Australia Police advises that drivers of any type of vehicle should:

* Slow down and drive to the conditions when approaching a road with fallen trees

* Park away from trees

Follow the Bureau of Meteorology and the State Emergency Service on social media to stay up to date with the weather conditions.
