Over the past month, Murray Bridge Police have been invited to Thomas Foods International to welcome new international workers.
Murray Bridge Crime Prevention Officers have delivered presentations to new workers on important topics such as road safety, road rules, personal safety and other expected behaviours while in Australia.
The latest presentation was delivered yesterday, Thursday 7 May, to a group of seven workers from Timor-Leste, who had arrived in Australia less than 24 hours prior.
Police are expecting to deliver presentations to about 100 new immigrants from South East Asia and the Pacific Islands over the coming weeks.
SAPOL welcomes this initiative to foster a positive, ongoing relationship between local police and international workers, welcoming them to our beautiful region and building safer communities.
