Two men have been arrested after a police operation in Moore Park this afternoon.
About 4.45pm (Monday 3 August 2026), officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command with the assistance of specialist police responded to reports of a man carrying a firearm within the Entertainment Precinct at Moore Park.
On arrival, officers located two men, one of which allegedly wearing a bullet proof vest and carrying a firearm.
The two men, aged 39 and 35, were arrested and a replica firearm, a vest, and a badge were seized.
Both were taken to Surry Hills Police Station where inquiries are ongoing.
