An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed during a home invasion on the Mid North Coast this morning.
About 5.50am (Monday 10 August 2026), emergency services were called to a home on The Ruins Way, Port Macquarie, following reports of a home invasion.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District were told a group of unknown people forced entry into the home and stole two cars – a black Ford Mustang and a grey Mercedes C300 – before leaving the scene.
During the incident, the occupant – a 37-year-old man – sustained stab wounds to his arm.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
About 6am, police located the two vehicles travelling on Macleay Valley Way at Kempsey.
When both vehicles failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, and road spikes were successfully deployed.
A short time later, police located the Mustang abandoned nearby. The car was seized and will undergo forensic examination.
The Mercedes was later found alight in the Greenhill area. The vehicle was seized for forensic examination after Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Multiple crime scenes were established, and police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
