Possession of explosive material - man arrested, South Australia

Police have arrested a man after a search of his property uncovered suspicious items.

At about 9.15pm, Wednesday 12 October, the 55-year-old from Marleston was arrested at his home address in relation to the possession of material that could be used to manufacture explosives.

The arrest followed after police received information that suspicious items were located at the address. The Police Bomb Response Unit attended with local patrols to ensure that the scene was safe. No actual explosives were located.

The accused has been charged with take steps in the process of manufacture of explosives. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
