Powering up small to medium businesses

The Hodgman Liberal Government's Power$mart Business program is now open and will work with small to medium sized businesses to improve their energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, increase productivity and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy costs have a significant impact on Tasmanian businesses, so the Government wants to ensure they understand their energy use and know how to access financial support for energy upgrades such as through the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme.

The Power$mart Businesses program will co-fund energy efficiency audits for priority business types such as commercial office spaces, retail tenancies and accommodation, and independent supermarkets.

The initiative is a part of the Climate Action 21:Tasmania’s Climate Change Action Plan 2017-2021, with an Energy Efficiency Expert Panel of local energy consultants assigned to undertake the energy efficiency audits.

The Hodgman Liberal Government will co-fund the energy efficiency audits, providing financial support to cover 70 per cent of the cost, with the remainder to be paid for by the business.
