Premier admits Ferguson cut concession support

Tasmanian Labor

Jeremy Rockliff has admitted that his deputy and Treasurer Michael Ferguson has cut concession support to Tasmania's most vulnerable.

It's beyond belief that at a time households are in the grip of a full-blown cost of living crisis the Rockliff-Ferguson Government is reducing financial support for low paid Tasmanians.

The government is so out of touch with the cost pressures facing Tasmanian families they have not only cut concessions, they are also increases taxes and charges.

The Rockliff-Ferguson Government will impose increases in water and electricity bills as well as a new bin tax.

Governments in other states have addressed the cost of living crisis with payments of up to $400 to support families with bills.

The Rockliff-Ferguson government has instead cut concessions and increased cost pressures rather than adopt the helpful measures of other states.

This is a budget that will make things worse for many Tasmanians who are already struggling with the cost of living.
