The Premier has sent her well wishes to the Minister for Communities, Disability Services and Seniors who will undergo further breast cancer surgery on December 11th.
Until then, Coralee O’Rourke will continue attending to electorate business for her seat of Mundingburra.
"Coralee has requested that she continue working for her electorate right up to her surgery – a request I am happy to grant," the Premier said.
"She is a tireless worker for her community."
Mrs O’Rourke’s ministerial duties are being met by Employment Minister Shannon Fentiman.
Minister O’Rourke was diagnosed during breast cancer awareness month in October.
"Every week 343 women are diagnosed with breast cancer," the Minister said.
"I plan to face this challenge like most other Queensland women by continuing to get on with my work."
