The Guarantee of Origin (GO) scheme will formally launch on Monday 3 November, 2025.
The GO scheme is a voluntary framework for:
- emissions accounting of products
- certification of renewable electricity.
The GO scheme provides a product-based emissions accounting framework for particular commodities. This framework tracks emissions and related data across the supply chain.
The GO scheme will empower Australian businesses to make confident, objective and credible claims about:
- the renewable electricity they generate or use
- the products they make.
The GO scheme will also support consumers by providing a publicly accessible record of:
- renewable electricity use
- product certificates.
This will enhance transparency. It will help Australian producers to access emerging domestic and export low-emissions markets.
The GO scheme will be administered by the Clean Energy Regulator.
