A prisoner who escaped a Correctional Facility in Muswellbrook in July was arrested in the Sutherland Shire last night, NSW police said.
Myles Fergus Wilson,58, was noticed missing during a check of inmates at the facility on 24 July 2015.
Following a search of the grounds and surrounding area, the man could not be found. He was reported as an escapee to local police and an investigation commenced.
Following extensive investigations, police from Sutherland Local Area Command attended a home on Blackwattle Place, Alfords Point, about 7pm Sunday, where they located him hiding in a kitchen cupboard.
He was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station, where he was charged with escape lawful custody.
