Transurban welcomes the NSW Government's update on NSW toll reform today, which highlights significant progress towards a balanced, simpler and more transparent tolling system for motorists, while protecting the value of existing contracts and revenue.
As a result of a constructive engagement to date, Transurban has indicated a willingness to:
- Remove administration fees1 by mid-2026, as part of a comprehensive overhaul of the enforcement process, to provide a better experience for customers and protect the value of the investment made in Sydney.
- Pay the NSW Government for induced demand that results from the extension of the $60 per week toll cap initiative to a permanent toll cap, that will be available to motorists from 1 July 2026.
Work is ongoing for these and other possible changes, to be finalised in the first half of 2026. This work is focused on solutions that improve efficiency, fairness, simplicity and transparency for motorists while protecting the $36 billion investment Transurban and its Partners have made in the Sydney road network.
