Property charges at Townsville

Police have charged a teenage male will multiple property offences following his arrest yesterday afternoon in Heatley.

It will be alleged the 17-year-old was involved in a robbery at Lakeside Drive, Idalia where a woman had her bag stolen around 2.20pm on February 6.

A short time later, it will be alleged the same male attempted to steal a handbag from a woman in Kokoda Street, Idalia and when unsuccessful, fled in a Holden Traxx which police will allege had been stolen from Hermit Park on February 5 between 1am and 6am.

On February 7, around 1.25pm, it will be alleged the male was involved in a robbery with violence at a sporting store in Garbutt.

The 17-year-old West End male is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court today charged with five counts each of stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, four counts of burglary, two counts each of attempted enter dwelling with intent and robbery and one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent and obstruct police.
