PROPERTY COUNCIL APPOINTS NEW CAPITAL MARKETS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Property Council of Australia today announced the appointment of Antony Knep as the organisation's new Executive Director of Capital Markets.

Mr Knep brings 25 years' experience in capital markets, equity investment advisory and funds management to the role. Previously Mr Knep was Director at ADK Advisory where he provided investment and strategy advice to listed equity firms.

Prior to that, Mr Knep held senior director roles at Lazard Investment and AEW Global Advisors in Australia and internationally. He has a Masters of Real Estate Investment from the University of Technology Sydney where he lectures in Investment Asset Allocation and Real Estate Economics.

Chief Executive Mike Zorbas said he was delighted to announce Mr Knep's appointment following an extensive recruitment process.

"Antony is a leader with extensive knowledge of and experience working in capital markets," Mr Zorbas said.

"Antony has the strategic and technical knowledge required to advance domestic and overseas investment in our cities. He also has communication skills required to champion complex reforms in a fast-moving regulatory environment.

"I am pleased to welcome Antony to the team knowing he will provide sound advice to members and governments alike," he said.

Mr Knep said he was excited to be taking on the role, commencing on 13 February.

"I am thrilled to be leading the Capital Markets Division, and championing the great work of our members," Mr Knep said.

"I am also honoured to work with such an experienced and outstanding team and will endeavour to deliver the highest level of commitment and service to our members and the industry," he said.

Mr Zorbas also paid tribute to outgoing Capital Markets Executive Director Belinda Ngo, who announced her resignation last year to pursue new opportunities after serving the organisation for 10 years.

"Belinda is a leading light for the industry and has been an inspiring leader for our organisation," Mr Zorbas said.

"Belinda's commitment to good public policy and to our members has taken the Capital Markets Division from strength to strength. She joins the significant family of Property Council alumni with our enduring thanks," he said.
