Property Council Hails Labor's Election Victory

The Property Council of Australia has congratulated Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Australian Labor Party on its Federal election win and thanked all outgoing parliamentarians for their service to the nation.

"The property industry congratulates the Prime Minister and his team on a hard-won and decisive result," Property Council Chief Executive Mike Zorbas said.

"The good grace with which Prime Minister Albanese and Opposition Leader Dutton conducted themselves on election night also underlines the strength of our enviable democracy.

"Serving in the parliament is not for the faint-hearted, and the Property Council also thanks those who have left the parliament in this cycle for their service and commitment to Australia.

"Equally, we look forward to working together with the returned parliament to address the immediate challenges ahead for our nation.

"The returning government is well aware of those challenges.

"Better planning our capital and regional cities and providing the homes and industrial and commercial property assets the nation needs is a high priority for the government.

"Beyond this, pro-investment settings that attract overseas money to build our future city assets must be a priority for both the federal and state governments over the next term.

"We look forward to early industry consultation on scheme design of the government's key election commitments to make sure they continue to help industry grow the national pie.

"From FIRB, APRA and the ACCC through environmental approvals to industrial relations in the construction sector, there is much we can make more productive," he said.
