Property Crime And Weapons Charges, Kents Lagoon

Police have charged two people following investigations into an alleged armed robbery at Kents Lagoon on 12 October.

Around 7.45am on Sunday, it is alleged three people travelling in a stolen Ford Ranger with a trailer attached, entered a Munbilla Road property and stole a quad bike.

The owners of the property, a man and a woman, attempted to follow the offenders prior to police arrival, and were allegedly threatened with a firearm.

At around 8.30am, police located the Ford Ranger, along with a firearm, abandoned on Owens Street in Raceview.

Following investigations, police executed a search warrant at a property on the Mt Lindsay Highway at Munruben yesterday, 16 October.

They located ammunition and alleged stolen property, including a stolen vehicle, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit money.

A 41-year-old Regents Park man has since been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon category A, B or M, authority required to possess explosives and one count each of enter premises and commit, driving a motor vehicle without a licence, receiving tainted property, possess counterfeit money and possess utensils or pipes.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today, 17 October.

A 33-year-old Regents Park woman has been charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon category A, B or M, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of enter premises and commit and authority required to possess explosives.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on 21 November.
