Property Crime Charges At Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch has charged a teenager in relation to a series of alleged property and vehicle offences across the Gold Coast in December.

It will be alleged that the offences included an attempted robbery at Vista Parade, Ormeau, the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence at Cosmos Court, Elanora, an attempted enter dwelling with intent at night while armed at Acron Street, Elanora, and enter dwelling and enter premises offences at Crestmore Court in Mermaid Waters, Minnie Street in Southport and Mayes Place in Ormeau.

As part of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at an Oxenford address on 30 December, where a 16-year-old boy was located and arrested.

Police will allege the teenager is linked to several offences involving a stolen Volkswagen Golf, which was used in multiple incidents. The Volkswagen Golf was reported stolen from Cosmos Court in Elanora on 26 December, and was located at Bowley Street, Pacific Pines that same day.

Stolen property, including items taken during a burglary at a Crestmore Court address in Mermaid Waters, was located and returned to the owner.

The 16-year-old Browns Plains boy has been charged with multiple offences, including three counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts each of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of motor vehicles, along with one count each of attempted robbery, attempted enter dwelling with intent at night whilst armed, enter dwelling with intent, receiving tainted property and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence.

He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear at the Southport Children's Court on 14 January.
